727 Track Club finishes 2006 season with strong showing at Junior Olympic meet in Virginia
The 727 Track Club wrapped up the 2006 track season with several strong performances at the 2006 AAU Junior Olympic meet in Virginia. Despite competing under very challenging conditions and severe heat (highs were in excess of 100 degrees), several athletes posted performances that placed them among the best in the country.
Over 18,000 athletes competed in the 2005 AAU Junior Olympics across all sports with Track and Field representing one of the largest sports of the festival.

AAU State Meet ResultsThe athletes of the 727 Track Club traveled to the AAU State Championships in Tallahassee on June 23-25 and came away with some superb performances. Many athletes set significant personal bests despite the extreme heat. Over the 3-days of competition, there were several athletes who delivered performances good enough to advance to the AAU National Junior Olympics in Virginia in late July. |

Included with these performances was Cody Campbell who came away as the state champion by finishing first in the pentathlon competition, as well as Nakia Love who was state champion in the long jump. Congratulations to all of our athletes who prepared for this meet by training hard and did their best during the competition. Your hard work paid off and you should be proud of your performances. |
